Once I Saw Mountains Angry is an aggressive and haunting string quartet piece composed for a reading session with the Calidore Quartet at the University of Toronto in 2019. A repeating rising and falling main motif fills the piece, characterizing an unrelenting cycle of hope turning into frustration.
